Hosting — Hetzner

We host this website with Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany (“Hetzner”). When you access the site, Hetzner processes server log data (including your IP address, the resources requested and the time of access) on our behalf to deliver the website reliably and securely. The data is processed on servers in Germany. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in the secure and efficient provision of our website. A data processing agreement (DPA) is in place with Hetzner.

Server log files

Our hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the request, and IP address. This data is not merged with other sources. Collection is based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR — the operator’s legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and security of the website.

Web analytics — Umami

We use Umami, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics tool, operated on our behalf by Beyond Simulations GmbH (Am Eich 9d, 22113 Hamburg) as a processor on its server umi.byndsim.com, hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. Umami works without cookies and without collecting personal data: it records only aggregated, anonymized usage statistics (page views, referrer, approximate region, browser and device type, and anonymous interaction events such as clicks on buttons and links, scroll depth and which sections are viewed) that cannot be traced back to an individual and are not combined across websites. No data is sold or used for advertising. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. A data processing agreement (DPA) is in place with Beyond Simulations GmbH.

Contact by e-mail or telephone

If you contact us, your enquiry and the resulting personal data (for example, name and request) are stored and processed solely to handle your request, and are not passed on without your consent. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR where related to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR) or your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). The data remains with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent, or the purpose no longer applies; mandatory statutory retention periods are unaffected.

For security, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption, recognizable by “https://” and the lock symbol in your browser. When encryption is active, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
